16th Annual Fil-Am Food and Arts Festival Sept 17th & 18th, 2011

For over half a century, Daly City has been home to the largest Asian demographic in California. The Filipino Community has roots in Daly City going back over 50 years, and once a year the Filipino Community celebrates this heritage. On September 17th & 18th, 2011, we celebrate that legacy with the 16th Annual Filipino-American Food and Arts Festival (formerly the Fil-Am Friendship Festival).

“HOMECOMING” is the guiding theme of this year’s event. Throughout Northern California and Nevada, the Filipino-American Diaspora can trace its roots to Daly City. For over 50 years, Daly City has been the port of entry for hundreds-of-thousands of Filipino-Americans. This year, we are reaching out to all Daly City natives throughout the state to come back HOME to celebrate this historic occasion.

2011 is also the 100th Anniversary of the founding of Daly City, and on September 17th and 18th, Serramonte Shopping Center, and The Daly City-Quezon City Sister City Committee (DCQC), invites you to the 16th Annual Filipino-American Food and Arts Festival.

The Filipino-American Food and Arts Festival remains to be the longest running Filipino-American event in the Bay Area that is free to the public, driving high-traffic for vendors and sponsors. Previous years’ events drew crowds of thousands of people and had countless vendors over the course of the festival weekend. This event has very high traffic and is excellently covered by the major Filipino TV stations, newspaper, and online media.

The DCQC Sister Cities Committee invites you to be a part of this community celebration. Join us on Saturday and Sunday, September 17th and 18th, at Serramonte Shopping Center to celebrate the 16th Annual Filipino-American Food and Arts Festival.
